Well if you attended Bainbridge bikefest you might be nervous! ( I ain't talking Lol) But if you are a lurker you might be saying . (WHAT HAVE I DONE?)I know you want pictures well I don't take them but I will take you with me so you could see to!Now if you are still with me I will give some tid bits from this past week end. First I must say The volunteer's are genuinely wanting you to have fun ( AND I DID). The Beer was $2 ( not the $4and $5 ) like at home. It didn't quit flowing either or you could bring your own. The entertainment never seemed to stop from bands on stage to the campground tours to the Bike show. The after hour shows were (OMG) I really don't understand why no one wanted to ride up and make some new friend's and experience this grass roots old school festival. This is a biker web site isn't it? All styles of bikes were represented ( including the euro trail set) I even witnessed one from Alabama drink a beer ( I wouldn't have noticed but he was wearing one of those yellow vest Lol) The point is he was having fun to!You can see the pictures at the Bainbridge bikefest website. They will be pg rated but you look close and you will see some good folks smiling and supporting juvenile diabetes and other charities. All the money goes to them not the event. I could post a lot more but I imagine I have lost most of you. So go ahead and scare me post something back! share your experience's or just comment.

Sounds like a great event and you had a great time. I'm glad to hear that some of these events are still worth going to, because of late the local bikefests have been a little on the lame side...imo anyway (ex Daytona which I don't know 'cuz I've never been to for biz reasons).

What did I do? I went to the flat track races in Ocala.

We had a nice long ride this week. Wanted to go to bike week in the Keys, but they jacked the room rates up too high.

So what did we do?

We waited till Sunday and rode down to Key West. Saw hundreds of bikes going north. We enjoyed the ride, and the reduced room rates. Spent a few days in the Keys enjoying riding around, snorkling and eating.

We try to get down to the Keys at least once a year. It's really a great ride. Even more fun during the week when it's relatively less crowded.

Washed and waxed the salt off the bike today.

I’m not sure I’m following the direction of the thread. Thought it was a ride/event report…didn’t read anything derogatory in the op. The “go ahead, scare me post something” comment is just indicative of the low activity from a low number of active members. I’ve made way worse and sarcastic comments than that (to mrbone’s chagrin  Grin ).

What might be lacking here is promotion and, while we discuss that from time to time, I don’t think we ever really have done anything. I’m usually up for whatever but really don’t have any ideas on what to do.

There was no malice intended here.

As I took the point of the OP and the subsequent follow up from Matt was that we don't ride?  The point of my response was there has been at least 4 prior get together's and its the same three/four that keep showing up.  FGT - Gary, Bill, Larry and myself.  Leesburg  - Gary, Bill, Larry, Brady, Don and myself.  NC - Gary, Bill, Ryan and  myself.  Ocala last weekend - Don, Gary, Bill and myself. (sorry if I missed anyone)  See a pattern here??

Also we just came through another very hot summer.  I rode more this summer than I ever have mostly because of the new bike.  And, finally family and business will always take precedence over riding.  Since I am self employed my best opportunities to ride are during the week when most can't.  I can do this when business is slow, the kid is in school and the wife is at work.  Otherwise riding on weekends takes time away from the kid while he is growing up.  I'll have plenty of time to ride weekends when he is gone but he only grows up once.
