Last year I did the Keys and Everglades the week between Christmas and New Years. The Keys seemed kind of hopping at that time (I’ve only been there once, fwiw). The Glades were totally empty except at those airboat ride places. However, I understand if that’s a time everyone wants to hang out with family. Just focusing on an Everglades ride though, the questions are…

1. Who’d be interested in a couple days of riding and a night of camping at Flamingo?
2. What dates work for ya, say in November and December?
3. Are there bears in the Everglades?

Bill,
If it can be over a weekend with maybe taking Friday & Monday off I'd go. I've always wanted to ride down there & I'll camp or split a room with someone. I just couldn't do it in the middle of the week.

Weekends are fine. We could ride down on a Friday afternoon, camp, and then spend a couple days riding around.

Bears are the least of your worries. Mosquitoes take more blood them bears. Grin

I went to Flamingo last year. It's a nice camp ground. But you really have to wait till the weather cools off. Wait for a few cool spells and some dry weeks.

The road into Flamingo is nice. Curvy road but patrolled by rangers. Better to just cruise enjoy the scenery and lack of building, power lines and signs. Not a road you want to burn.

I am up for camping, but I think maybe Dec or Jan might be better.

Keep me in the loop on this one. I am sure this one would interest Jamie too.

You all plan it and I'll see what I can do.  Leesburg, NC, Windy Acres coming up, Florida Get Together in Feb and right back into Leesburg then NC again, I am running out of kitchen passes for long weekend bike trips.   Grin
