I love craigslist! It is a daily source of pure entertainment! I must say though, I have gotten a few steals...the KLR600 that I ride every day is a $300 CL special  Grin

Dang, that was a good deal. 4 out of the 6 bikes I now own were bought on there, too. The other 2 were ebay.

Yes, it sure was. Carb cleaning, fuel petcock, new chain and sprockets and it was road worthy! It's about time for a new set of tires though! Especially since I am hoping to get out on some forest roads this weekend.

Heh, my craigslist story for the day: I have an ad for a bike up on the Tampa Bay site and I got a phone call last night from a prospective buyer. We go through the 22 questions of x, y, z and well, the conversation leads to us arranging for me to pick up a truck that he wants to *give* me! 97 Chevy, blown head gasket. He's sent me photos, has the title in hand and sees it as me doing him a favor. (It's been sitting for months because he doesn't have the time or $$) Yes sirrie!  laughing6 I'm going down with a car hauler tomorrow night, we'll see what this turns into!

Didn't end up happening! First guy in line to buy the bike came through--this truck guy was second--so, he was all in a fit when he got that news and wouldn't reply anymore!

I’m betting he’s buying up to a 530. Hope I'm thrashing around the forests at 73. You go pops!  Smiley

What the F is that?

What is up with that gas tank?

And nice job screwing up the perspective on all the pictures. That's a mess.

Edit: I just noticed that it doesn't have tail or signal lights. Maybe they don't need those in AZ.

Look how this ad ends. Pretty funny.  Shocked

TWO!!! CB550 Basket cases - $1650 (Evanston)

Date: 2010-07-21, 1:36PM CDT
Reply to: sale-fj3y3-1855374816@craigslist.org [Errors when replying to ads?]

Take it ALL, for $1650 or Best REASONABLE Offer. Would rather not separate, but willing to consider offers for bits and pieces.

Kid's unloved and unstarted projects. I don't know squat about what's here other than it's all for Honda CB550, and has taken over my workshop. Need the space and the kid has moved onto another project bike. Good projects for someone just getting into bike repair or wanting to tinker with cafe racers, etc.

2 Complete Honda CB550 Basket cases: 2 bare frames, plus 1 mostly complete bike, (only one title though), 2 engines, about 10 carbs, seats, 2 tanks, front forks, 2 mounted tires, 2 unmounted (all have decent tread and NOT dry rotted) there's enough to build 1 working bike and 95% of a second. Motors turn free and have good compression. Tanks are clean inside, but dusty and dirty from storage.

Frames will fit a 550 to 750.

Take it ALL, should fit in 1 pickup truck load for $1650 or Best REASONABLE Offer. Would rather not separate, but willing to consider offers for bits and pieces.

CASH ONLY, NO CHECKS and ABSOLUTELY WILL NOT SHIP.

By the way... I don't give a flying rat's ass if YOU think it's only worth scrap or whatever. It's a GODDAMN PROJECT FER CRISSAKES!!! Get over yourself and either MAKE AN OFFER or STFU. If I wanted your opinion, I'd beat it out of you with a stick.

And thanks for looking

In my never ending quest for a new bike, I found a couple of great ads.

Which daily ride is he getting rid of before moving to Europe?
http://sarasota.craigslist.org/mcy/1880300719.html

And what exactly is 'focus' anyway?
