It's hard to remember the time when this seemed cool, but it was. Ouch!

Yep, it's true, and funny as hell.

So I was trying to win the scene: I was behind the lead actor in the group, and I was jumping as high as I could, and doing a flip in the air. Funny, everything was $19.99 back in the 80's too.

Young Alfonso had a very developed "douchebag" vibe even at 13 years old. What a prodigy!

Vin...dude...that was horrible. Yuck. Blech.

That last one reminds me of Jim Carey. Perhaps him in an earlier life?

Before there was break dancing in the 80's, there was rerun (in the group The Lockers) in the 70's.

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wcNf6MBGoJg" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wcNf6MBGoJg</a>

The plot on this one is the dance group hires Rerun for the show. He then later learns they only hired him to make fun of 'fatty'. Then Roge comes on instead to break it up! Comedy gold!

One of Berry's last appearances on TV before going to that great big disco floor in the sky.

2003 on Scrubs

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vI38hJ1m-5Y" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vI38hJ1m-5Y</a>

For a while in the seventies, Fred Berry was one of the biggest stars on American television. The former dancer, who became a star in the sitcom "What's Happening" ballooned until his weight became a threat to his health. He battled with food, drink, drugs and women, marrying 6 times to 4 women in total. Diabetes was diagnosed, he lost more than 100 pounds and turned to religion. Born in St Louis, Missouri in 1951, Berry danced with "The Lockers" but it was the sitcom deal in 1976 that gave him his big break. The series ran for three seasons. After it was cancelled Berry struggled with personal problems and with the search for another star vehicle. The series was popular through reruns and a further series ("What's Happening Now") was picked up in 1985 and ran for three years, after which Berry gave up acting for religion. He returned to the screen in 1998 in the action movie "In The Hood" and his final role was a cameo in "Dickie Roberts: Former Child Star" in 2003. Berry died on October 21st 2003 aged 52.

Holy crap. Dig this. Fred Berry and Shabba-Doo (from Breakin') were in the group The Lockers.

I never thought about it, but is this where the expression "poppin and lockin" comes from?

Requirements to LOCK include:

1. candy cane socks
2. Hat-either a derby or a wide brimmed one with a pom-pom in the middle

This still makes me chuckle thinking of Jean Claude jumping up and down trying to get screen time.

Yep, it's true, and funny as hell.
