My 1990 Honda Hawk GT. 16,000 miles on the clock. 17 year old daughter has her MC endorsement now, so she thinks it's hers.

19 years old and mint. You obviously take good care of your rides. Great bike!

Thanks for the comment, but the credit goes to the 2 previous owners. I've only owned the bike for a year. So far I've only changed out the mirrors to Napoleon bar end mirrors and changed the turn signals to l.e.d.'s. The last owner had replaced the rear turn signals with marker l.e.d.'s mounted to the rear cowl, which looked slick, but weren't very visible. The next mods will be to replace the headlight with Dominator twin round headlights and to fit a seat cowl over the passenger seat.

I like v-twin sport bikes as they are more fun on the street than I-4's. I had an '89 Honda CB-1 once. It's a similar bike with a 400cc I-4. I always wished it was the Hawk GT.

I remember seeing your CB-1 advertised on ATVFlorida.com. I thought seriously bout contacting you. If I recall, you were asking a really fair price for it.

I sold it for $1800. It was a good price, but not really a bargain. Because of that bike, I started www.hondacb1.org in '05. It has gained some traction over the last year. Particularly in the UK.

What's the NT650 like to ride? I recently sold my SV650 and would like to pick up another sport bike sometime. But, I'm looking for something older this time around.

I imagine that it would be very similar to the SV. I think that the Hawk is a little underpowered in comparison, but work can be done to make the power on par. The powerband is very flat and predictable. Low end grunt is good. The transmission could use a 6th gear.

The suspension is outdated. The rear shock in non-linked, so it has a really heavy spring rate to accommodate the lack of mechanical advantage. A lot of Hawk owners have swapped out the front end to go with dual discs in the front. My suspension is stock and it works for me.

The riding position is a little cramped for me, but at least it's more upright than a sportbike. That's not so bad since the tank only holds a little over 2 gallons and my range between gas stops is just 100 miles. I think is is a great "play" bike and commuter. Although, it is very hard to look past the new Honda CB1000R that's on the cover of the new Cycle World magazine. Hopefully they will bring them to the US soon.

There is a really big following for Hawks and a lot of web sites dedicated to them.
