I am looking for a battery cover for my 1997 Honda Shadow VT1100C. Someone decided that their need for the cover was greater than mine on a Poker Run. I only hope that it fit their bike as I am finding it difficult to locate one for this year and model. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks and Ride Safe.

Finally found a pair of side covers. Not stock but better than the empty space where the left one was missing. And less than half the price of a single stock cover.

Hated the Chrome look when I first put them on. It's tolerable now. Still torn as to whether to leave them alone or paint them black.

Well, this is the “no-chrome zone,” but I think the cover lends a little contrast to the appearance. I think its okay. If the chrome absolutely had to go, I might consider mrbones technique of dulling the chrome with sandpaper or steel wool.

nah...I retract that ^. If you dulled all the chrome then maybe that would be okay, but now I think that just doing the cover might give the appearance that it's damaged or worn and look out of place. Maybe another thing is paint the cover black and install a Shadow emblem.

I appreciate all the responses. General consensus from friends who have seen the new covers is leave them chrome. Gonna hold off any changes for now. The new look might grow on me.
