Let's try this again, hopefully the link works this time. These are some photo's my wife rook a couple of years ago at the Wheels Through Time museum in Maggie Valley North Carolina. There was talk of it moving to Prescott Arizona, I'm not sure if that has happened or not. This is a must see museum along with Barbers if you ever have the opportunity.  http://s276.photobucket.com/albums/kk32/883softharley/wheels%20thru%20time/

I'd go, but I just saw the whole place!  Grin

Seriously, great spread. That place looks like a good day, or two, or three.

Barbers museum is definitely a great place to visit. I was there back in August and want to go back later and spend a little more time in certain areas. My brother and I went and spent about 5 hours looking and needed more time than that but we got there later than I wanted to and was trying to get through everything before closing time. I think we left about 35-40 minutes before closing but we were both beat from walking and were ready to sit down and relax. Good thing I have the digital camera(with an extra battery) cause I took over 400 pictures up there.

I would definitely recommend a visit. Just give yourself plenty of time.

Barber's is one of the best museums I have ever seen. The thing that makes it special I think is that it doesn't cater to one particular make. They have every make that you can imagine and a few that you have never heard of Grin I loved the Japanese bikes from the 70's, I grew up with those and they have some great examples. We spent about 6 hours there a few years ago and we plan to go back this spring hopefully.

Man.....  I spent three days in Maggie Valley this last summer playing golf before I made the pilgrimage to the Tail of the Dragon. I have never heard of this museum! How could I have missed this?  I had already been planning to go back ASAP. This just seals that deal. Thanks for the info!!!!

Here is a link to the wheels through time site. Maybe one day I will get a chance to go this one too.

Another little museum that I have been to is in Juliette, Ga. which is just a little above Macon. It's not as nice of a building as Barber museum has but it is a nice place to visit. After all the main focus should be the bikes not the building.

Thanks for the link to the museum in Juliette, I never knew it existed. I was just through that area last week, I will definitely stop in and see it the next time I am in the area.

Yes, I noticed the hours, I will have to schedule around that. Have you been to the small private museum in Homer Georgia? http://www.vintagememoriesinc.com This is really nice place and the people who run it are awesome. You have to call to schedule a visit, but it is well worth it.

I wish I had known about Vintage Memories 6 months ago. I probably was less than 30 minutes away from there in May when a friend (Ross) and I went to Toccoa to help another friend from St. Pete move his parents back to St. Pete and everything loaded so quickly that Friday night and Saturday morning that we were gone by 10 that morning. Ross and I left in search of places to visit on our way back (we were part of the loading crew not the unloading crew) which is when I found Old Mill Museum. We tried to find several places to stop by but nothing panned out but Old Mill. I will have to remember Vintage Memories and see if I can get up that way. Thanks..
