MotorcycleUSA: “Harley-Davidson introduced the newest member of its Sportster line, the 2010 Forty-Eight, today at the New York IMS. Sportster loyalists will be happy to see the return of the ‘peanut’ tank after The Motor Company discontinued using the iconic tank in 2007. The 2010 Sportster Forty-Eight is the latest in H-D’s Dark Custom line, with bobbed fenders, a blacked-out engine, burly wheels and a 2.1 gallon peanut’ tank….” Rest of the article:

I actually like that sporty. Sweet looking bike. To be honest though, I liked the newer tanks.

I’ve owned two Sportsters, the first had that peanut tank design, which I definitely like the looks of. This new Forty-Eight model holds 2.1 gallons. The 2010 XL Sportster holds 4.5 gallons. My 2009 XR Sportster holds 3.5 gallons. Assuming the Forty-Eight gets the same mileage as my XR, that’s a 100 mile range.  Smiley

The tank looks good, it just needs to be black!

Tank looks cool, but I've never liked the blacked out engines. To me, a Harley engine has to be chrome.
