I know, I hate their spokes lady, Flo, I couldn't find that thread I made about it, BUT...

I jumped onto their website today and did a quote for auto insurance and I might be able to save almost 1/2 per year compared to State Farm.

I'm in disbelief. Does anybody use Progressive? How is it?

I have Progressive for my bike only... had it since 2002 with my first 954. I slid that one under a car after only 9 months... totaled Sad  They sent me a check for the bike and my gear. Three months later I got my current 954 and they insured me without a rate increase. My insurance has been going down each year since. I think I only pay $300 and change a year now.

That sounds good. I've got three cars to insure and with the exact same coverage, I'll save $95/month with Progressive. That's a good hunk of change. I'm waiting for a call back from my State Farm agent to discuss this matter.

Well, I went to purchase this auto insurance and BOOM!, the rate rent up $95/month. The site found a claim I made last year for a crack in the windshield of my van. The increased rates are identical to State Farm. So, it seems you can save a bundle if you have no claims whatsoever. If you have a claim, the rates will go up quite a bit.

WOW... thats not good. I must have lucked out with them cuz like I said I totaled one bike and got the same rate just months later on a new one. I'm dealing with my homeowners right now. I went in and asked what can I do to get my rate down. I was told a wind midigation inspection. I did it and my rate dropped about $600/year. The next month they "re-assesed" my replacement cost and my rate went back up $4oo/year. Insurance....god I hate 'em.

I just had the same thing happen with my Homeowners insurance. Saved $1200 with the wind mitigation inspection. They just re-evaluated the "cost to rebuild" and determined that the cost had increased by 10%, so they raised my premium by 28%. There goes the wind mitigation savings.

I finally switched auto insurance today and went with 21st Century Insurance. I came up with a $65/month savings ($780/year.) Not bad at all!

Still with Geico here, and they're still the only insurance company that sponsors a motocross team.

Up 'till last week, full coverage (ex-uninsured motorists) on two motorcycles...$345/year.

Same coverage, added junior now that he has his endorsement...$623/year.

I'm okay with that. It could have been worse.  Wink

I got my updated Geico policy in the mail with the final numbers. Three motorcycles $1,015, all mins across the board, UMI waived, $3,000 accessory coverage--all bikes combined, $250 deductible.

2012 XT1200 $385
2009 XR1200 $145 < This got all the renewal discount listed below and I can drop when sold.
2009 KL250 $485 < I assigned this as the one my son rides most (not that to suggest he's allowed on the other two, just an insurance thing.)

Laundry list of discounts...Multi-vehicle $107; Renewal $84; MSF $52; Mature rider $46; Anti-theft devices $13 on two out of three.
