I just bought a 2001 CBR 929 RR Erion Racing edition with 2,800 miles I payed 3600 for it did I over pay? The bike is in great condition except it needs a new back tire.

Also this is my first 900-1000 cc bike and I noticed its geared alot lower then my 600RR, I didn't accendently buy a cruising street bike did I? lol
(I havent really pushed it because of the back tire, has ply separation down the center)

Things learned from FHP: All extra lights are illegal, that the helmet ticket is only 99$ but a second ticket under the same statute is issued making it 200$, and finally most FHP don't even know current Florida motorcycle law. (seriously watch them go back to check the book)

Hello rock1t and welcome to the forum.

Surfing around, it looks like the bike goes for as high at five grand, so no need for remorse…time to ride (after you get the tire replaced). Not a lot of miles on that tire for going bad, but I just blew threw a Sportmax Qualifier in 3,500 on a cruiser and I don't ride hard at all.

If the gearing doesn’t feel right for you, figure out what’s on it and then tinker with this online gearing tool: Gearing Commander. I already checked, your bike is in the database. You’ll need a good deal of seat time to figure out gearing that ultimately works for you and this thing is helpful. I used it on my BMW and have submitted my Sportster because that’s next. Oh…right under the model, there’s a window to “select units.” Make sure you set the units to mph, because the site’s default is km/h and metric. Good luck!

Oh yeah, somewhere in here we have a tire thread with some links to helpful reviews...

Reading your signature, what kind of helmet ticket did you get?
