Has anyone ever checked out the Webster Cycle Meet (Swap Meet)? It’s the first Sunday of each month…this Sunday, and unless someone tells me it’s a waste of time, I was thinking of taking spin up there to see what’s up. I just heard about it from one of our members TTRider this week; he hasn’t been but heard that it was pretty good. Good to me means volume, otherwise its junk. One man’s junk is another’s treasure though, right?

Mapquest.

Anything else motorcycle-wyz going on this long holiday weekend?

Some friends are riding over to the Webster Swap meet from Daytona Beach on Sunday. They said its a pretty good sized swap meet usually.

NOTE! I just noticed that I had the wrong website linked into the first post. I'd linked some other auto swap meet in Summter County in there. OOOOPS. It's now fixed.

Click for More Information on the Cycle Meet. $5 Admission...includes free beer...holy crap!

Okay...I'm heading up. I'm actually looking for a few gadgets for my restoration. You never know!

Oh, look…Photo Galleries. Gallery 1 and Gallery 2.

Hey, look at this photo. When they say “swap” meet, we are talking motorcycle stuff, right?   I mean, after all, this is near Floral City where we know a lot of weirdness goes on.

I made the trip up to the Webster Cycle Meet this morning. It was under an hour for me. Easy to get to; lots of parking (free)…lots of people came in on bikes. Jr. drove me up in the Tundra (he’s learning to drive), in case we had to bring something big home, which we almost did. Pheeew was it hot out there! I’d say the swap meet covered about two acres and it was mostly real swap meet stuff. There were a few t-shirt vendors and a couple odd-ball thing vendors, but overall it was motorcycle stuff. I’d say the swap meet stuff was probably well over 80% Harley Davidson parts. Also, there were very few actual motorcycles for sale, vintage or otherwise; maybe a dozen (some real classics, photos below, two Aermacchis…an SX125 that I almost brought home and my favorite, a Rapido, not really my favorite). Unfortunately, it was a lot of the same stuff over and over again, but there were some definite gems in the rough here and there and it’s fun to look through boxes of stuff. I was actually looking for something I could use for a stone guard on my Baja headlight; didn’t see anything, but got some good ideas. I saw some nice AMF-Harley medallions that I wanted, but couldn’t get a good price. Bummer! Not to suggest stuff was overpriced, it’s a swap meet, it’s all negotiable. They also had a multiple category show that only a handful of bikes entered. There was cooler stuff out in the parking lot. Like I said, there were lots of bikes there. Will I go again? Not every month, but it’ll probably be something to check out a couple times a year.

btw, I saw that dude in the photo two posts up…no shit!

There were more trophies than motorcycles in the show.

Hey, I just saw this up at Starke!

It looks like the local contingent here in Temple Terrace is heading back up to Webster for the next swap meet…November 7…weekend after this coming. Glad to have anyone come along, pick you up on the way, whatever. See links and map in first couple posts. Hopefully, it’ll be a little cooler this time.  Smiley

Not much going on this summer, maybe a good time to hit the Webster Swap Meet again?

Next time is July 3.
