…can you believe it? Woohoo! Maybe Cleveland last week, but Carolina, and in Charlotte? I think the Panthers had won the last six or so games they’ve played. This is the first 2-0 start for the Bucs in five years. Good news. Congrats to the Bucs.  icon_thumleft

Good late game tonight…Payton vs Eli in Indianapolis.

4-2  That’s one more win than they had all of last year…with ten weeks to go!

Do the Bucs still sell out all their home games?

That is a big negative. All the home games will be blacked out on TV because of that, too.

Josh Freeman is having an outstanding year and getting the rest of the team pumped. If that continues, the tickets will sell again and we won’t have the blackouts.

There is just too much stuff to do in Florida for people to sit in the stands and watch a losing team I think. I mean football season is usually the best weather of the year for outdoor stuff.

I use to go to the Dolphin games with my brother, he had season tickets. They had trouble selling out the stadium even when they were winning. I remember one year the TV station actually bought a block of tickets so a play off game would not be blacked out.

I agree. Once I figured out how to work my DVR, I record the games I want to watch and then watch them when I want (assuming they're not blacked out)...and ffwd through those maddening booth reviews.

If you missed the Dolphins-Jets game yesterday afternoon you missed this sideline trip up of a Dolphin player by one of the Jets coaches. I knew this was going to be big news this morning. Crap…the NFL has tightened up so much this year that players are getting huge fines for playing good football. They’ll probably send this guy to the gallows.

Oh, and the Bucs beat the Skins yesterday. They’ve had a couple games this year where they sneak out by a point or two.

My Bears were murdered. Tom Brady broke their backs and made them humble.

Not as bad as the shellacking they put on the Jets on Monday night last week (45-3). Bears are still on top of the NFC North.

If the Bucs beat New Orleans and get a little help they could be looking at a wild card.

The Bucs are doomed.

I'm sure everybody has seen this already, but here it is, wow.

Well, 10-6 was a heck of an accomplishment after the 3-13 season last year for the Bucs, but no playoffs. To get to the playoffs, the Bucs needed to beat New Orleans, which they did, and both the Giants and Pack needed to lose, which neither did. The Bucs along with the G-Men were the only 10 win teams left out of the playoffs, while the weak NFC West is sending the 7 win and losing record Seahawks. But they won their division with a 7-9 record and that's how it works.

Young team, everyone’s coming back it appears, so things are still looking up for next year for the Buccaneers. icon_thumleft

While I am not a huge Buc's fan.  My first NFL game was in 1977 and the Buc's 2nd win in franchise history 17-7 over the St. Louis Cardinals.  I was 10 years old, we were living just outside of Tampa and some neighbors had tickets but one of their family members could not make it at the last minute.  My mom bought the ticket from them as one of my Christmas presents and they took me to the game.  They took me outside the stadium to wait for the players to come out and I got an autograph but I couldn't tell you for the life of me now who it was.  I just remember he was HUGE!   Grin  From my very poor memory I believe it was either Cecil Johnson, Cedric Brown or Lee Roy Selmon but that was using Wikipedia to help me look up the roster.  At 10 years old I really had no idea who it was but I thought it was pretty cool and ranks right up there with my best professional sports memories, the best was being at Game 7 when the Marlin's beat the Indians in 1997.
