Following the huge success Santa’s List (link) was last year…lol…I think we need to do it again.

So, what’s on Santa’s List this year folks?

I guess if you don't have mc related requests of Santa, tell us what else you're looking for.

******************************************************

On my list is Saddlemen’s new GC Sportbike Tech Seat with Memory Foam and SaddleGel. This just came out in time for the Holidays and, to my surprise, they have one for my model. Although I currently have two seats (Corbin and Stocker) and an awful mangy strap on gel pad, I continue to search for that elusive solution that lets me ride in comfort for more than half a day. I also want a GPS, but I'm not sure I trust Santa to pick one out, if you know what I mean.  Smiley

82" of super sized entertainment.   Shocked   I came across this TV one night on QVC while channel surfing.  I didn't pull the trigger then because I didn't know too much about it.  I have spent a lot of time since then researching and tracking it.  I happened across it again last night, except for a newer model.  I wasn't going to let it go twice.   Grin

I happened to hear the wife's alarm at 5am this morning when she got up for work so I mumbled, half a sleep that I had bought it.  I woke up and didn't have a knife in my chest so I guess it's ok.   Roll Eyes

Hey' at least its not a 5th bike in the garage.   angel  And, I saved 5k for not buying the Valk, yet.   Wink

^^I followed a Valk on the toy run Sunday...nize!

Anyway, ditch the Saddleman seat. Got it Friday and couldn't wait to try it out, rode three hours, my ass still aches, put it in the box back to Dennis Kirk yesterday. On to the GPS…anyone got any recommendations? Bar mount would be the direction...

Sorry to hear that this seat didn't work out. A comfortable seat for that bike must exist somewhere. You may have do go the Mr Bones route and use wheelchair gel to make your own custom seat insert.

There are some articles about racing your bike in Cycle World this month. I skimmed the whole mag so I don't know if they mention the seat at all.

Alas, I cancelled the order.   Sad

The wife was cool about it and was up for it but I got the guilty's yesterday about spending the money.  I am in the middle of saving to pay cash for my truck when the lease run's out in the summer and if for some reason I was to come up about 3k short I would be kicking myself.  Especially, when my TV, although 15 years old, still works great.  Growing up and doing the mature thing just sucks sometimes!   Roll Eyes

Since I will never be able to afford a Concours, I bought this today instead. The GL1100 chopper will be for sale soon.

The SV650 is a do-anything bike. When I got my GL1100 I had visions of riding across country and taking trips with my wife. I rode with a passenger once all last year (and it wasn't even my wife). Now that I have a trailer to assist in the long-distance trips, the GL1100 seems like an awful lot of bike to be sitting on all the time. Man, was it easy to get this SV up on the trailer for the trip home.

A couple years back, I thought for sure I was going to get sport bike. I decided old guys could have sportbikes too. Looked around and landed on the SV. Versatile, not too complicated…usually priced pretty good for the value. I found that lots of owners do some long-haul on them without a lot of trouble. I never did get one. Heck, I’m still a member of the SVRiders forum. Point is, I think the SV is a great bike. Good choice.  icon_thumright

Nice bike Bagofbones. I like your other bike, it was one of a kind. I didn't even know what it was until you said.

My son has a bike just like the one in the picture. Fun to ride, but I just don't know how to ride a sport bike. My wrists, neck and back all ache after I get off that thing. Even after a short ride. I think sport bikes are cool, but I am keeping my cruiser for now.

The ergos of the that SV (like mine) are pretty friendly. I raised my bars up a little bit to make it even better. I rode a Honda CB600RR once and that was painful until I got up to 80mph, then it was perfect! That bike needs to be ridden above 80 to be in a sweet spot. Of course that means it should be only on a racetrack.

And, make sure you turn it on.   Grin  I had a buddy start his run through the Dragon with a helmet mounted camera, reached up and thought he turned it on.  He low sided in the last couple of turns, not hurt too badly and the bike survived.  When we went to watch the wreck later back at camp it turns out he didn't turn it on, just took one initial picture as he was starting out.  We asked him to see if could do a repeat performance and get it on film this time but he declined.   Angry

Not yet. It will be replacing something that is dead with an additional 9hp and 13 ft/lbs of torque.
