WTB Nighthawk 250

I am considering doing a Honda Nighthawk 250 Bobber project sometime in the near future.  If you know of one within a decent distance of S. Fla let me know.

The older the better.  Obviously the usual conditions apply.  Not really interested in a blown motor, no bent frames and must have a title or be free or very close to it.  Other than that the cheaper the better.

A $300 set of mufflers for a $150 chin guard that you couldn't pay 99% of Magna riders to put on their bike and I would be getting the better deal??

I was thinking more early 80's.  I was chasing info from a thread on the v4 site and came across a picture of one that I thought looked pretty cool.  Cool + cheap + relatively simple = I am interested.  Of course I can't find it again now.  But think, single seat of course, long thin rear fender and large wide beach cruiser type bars.  I have some 1" bars here that might make a pretty cool looking conversion but I would have to line them up to decide if they would be out of place or not.  Just looked like a quick fun project that would be a whole lot more fun to cruise the beach on then the MAG, which as you now know isn't happy at 35mph speeds.

Yup,
About 130 miles yesterday, around 30 today. Hopefully get some in tomorrow. It's amazing how working shocks make me want to ride even more

I have a picture in my phone of want I want to do.  I found one near my Dad the guy wants $1,200 for and I had him text me a pic.  I don't want to spend the $1,200 and would rather build one but I wanted to see what he had done and it is almost exactly what I had in mind.  I'll put it up here when I get a minute later today.

I found this bike for sale up by my Dad for $1,200.  I am not really interested in paying that much or buying one already done but this will give you an idea of what I want.  I would like a longer fender that covers approx. 3/4 of the rear wheel and as I said, I might go with a 1" conversion on the bars for a the wide beach cruiser look.  Which is my intension, to cruise the beach with this.

A similar model that pops up on searches is the 85-87 Honda CM250 Rebel...same engine as the Nighthawk.

Simplicity for one.  The ability for any one in the family or guests to jump on and go for another, including my mother who would ride a 250 but probably not a 650.  If my son chooses, I would rather he ride a 250 to high school than a 650 is a third reason.  Plus he has the V30 Magna and V45 Sabre or the wife's V45 Magna if he wanted to ride something bigger.  $800 is way more than I want to spend for a project bike would be in fourth place here.  In succession I have paid 1k for my bike, $150 for the V30 Magna, $400 for the V45 Magna and $300 for the V45 Sabre.  See a pattern here??   

Should I go on??

Sorry my brother.  I was just being a smart ass and got carried away, I can do that sometimes.  

I have been way punchy the last couple of days.  Super overloaded with work which is great for my bank account but bad for my sanity.    Two months ago I was stressed because I wasn't making enough money and now I am stressed because I am working too damn much.    I am not against hard work but a whole week of 16 to 19 hour days is taking it toll.  Back at it.

Just keep thinking about all the riding we are going to do in may & it makes all the hard work worth it!!!. I got the shinko's in yesterday & will put them on this weekend, They look great & hopefully they perform as good.

Yeah, if I live that long.     My poor wife is freaking out because if we are this busy when I am gone she is never going to be able to handle it.

Still riding the Hawk...actually had a ride out to Anna Maria Island one recent Sunday morning with my daughter. She had to ride the Reflex though. She's now got her eye on a 2011 Honda CBR250r.
