One of the members on the Honda V4 site had the need to sell his baby.  Since he is a friend and I know the bike and the history, I had to help him out.   Grin

For those of you that don't know it is a 1983 Honda V65 Magna which is a V4 engine and the fastest production street bike when it came out.  These bikes were built from 83 - 86 and the 83 is the preferred year with the better carbs and the wheels on the later years tend to peel their chrome.  My other big Mag is an 84' and I LOVE it to death but I will probably reluctantly drag my feet but eventually part company with it.

This one has all of the goodies that I would have eventually done to mine and most of the chrome that I probably would not have but since it is there and looks pretty sweet, I'll take it!

And, you would have if you checked your email more regularly.   Grin
j/k.

I picked it up in the truck.  At first we were going to meet up somewhere but then I decided to go all of the way over to Punta Gorda.  My wife was exhausted from working until 3am Saturday morning and the a/c is currently out in my truck so I didn't want her to have to ride over and then make the drive by herself back.  And, I would have insisted on taking the truck with a ramp just in case there was an issue.  Sooooooo, it was just easier for me to run over and pick it up by myself.

We had to run up to my Mom's in Ft. Pierce yesterday so the total for the weekend is 440 miles in a cage and 1/4 mile on a bike and that was one loop around the hood' when I got it home.   Roll Eyes

I didn't ride it when I got there, in fact I didn't even throw a leg over it.  It was killing my buddy to sell it and I didn't want the image of someone else on his bike to be the last one in his mind.

The set up does not fit me well anyway and if I had ridden it home I probably would be hating it and regretting the purchase so this works well and I have the time I need to make it mine before any real miles are on it.

Haha. I am bad about that.

We were riding most of Saturday too. We went the other way. We went over to Stuart and around and back home.

I am pretty centrally located. One day I will meet someone from the board.

Ummm, FGT, Fontana/SGT, might try to sneak up to Leesburg in between............

You might want to run another get together by my wife first.   Grin

How about towards the end of October??  Halloween might be a good weekend to be camping at Charlotte's???   hello2

A biketoberfest thing would be good, and I think we’d get some interest in that idea. Charlotte’s? Okay, but fair warning…me ‘n camping on motorcycle trips during the last decade (maybe two) has been a bad scene. In fact, the last camping gear I ever owned got left behind abruptly at the Buttgenbach Mine Campgrounds in Croom after I cracked up on my newly restored 72dt2mx resulting in a four day stay at University Community Hospital. I got the bike loaded though.  Grin

We can always opt for comfort and stay in town again??  Just would be nice to be able to hang out and drink a few and not have to worry about the ride in after.  Halloween this year falls on a Monday so the 28th, 29th and 30th would be awesome.

Also, when we left the FGT on Sunday we rode north of AP and stopped at the Lake Brentwood Motel.  He was $10 less a night than Reed's and although still on the main road, it did sit back a bit and wasn't near the main intersection.  MUCH quieter and a small lake in back for scenery, might not be a bad idea to try that out before the FGT 2012 rollls around either.

Do you want to start a new thread and see if we can generate some interest??  I know Gary will be there and George if his wife heals up.  I am sure if we give Dan enough notice he can get the word out to every one not to make plans for him that weekend.   Grin

We can reach out to Larry, Ken and Danny who will bring his Hotel tent.  Also and we have some v4 members elsewhere in the state that could not make the FGT so maybe??

Yeah…new thread in order…will do.

Would like to see some long standing bf members come to something like this.  Cool

Oh, and camping isn't out of the question just 'cuz of my past experiences. Clearly a super cheap route to having fun.

Since you have seniority here and are a more recognizable figure, I'll let you take the lead on this one.  Do it up when you have the time.  "BF Oktoberfest"  Oct. 28th - 30th, 2011

I'll wait until we get back in May to start a thread on the V4 site.
