I figured out how I'm packing & mounting the bags on my bike for the trip to N.C. this weekend. Checked all the fluids, Adjusted the highway pegs, Put on a barbed wire liscense plate holder. Of course I always feel like I'm forgeting to do something when getting ready for a trip Grin

I didn’t actually do anything, but I did surf around the net looking for a rack for the back of my dual sport. Found some expensive ones, like $189 before shipping…seems steep for a simple little tail rack. Not a lot of farkles for this particular model (KL250). That’s probably a good thing.

I rolled mine out of the way so I could get to my weights.  Sad

My bike doesn't get much love during the week. Mostly a weekend thing.

My office is only a couple of miles from my house. So no real savings and it's such a short trip it's not really worth getting the bike out and the gear on.

Hey, thanks for that offer. Probably something will come up with the rack, but there is one thing that I’d like to have and haven’t been able to find anywhere. It’s a bash plate/engine guard for a 74 Aermacchi Baja that I’ve been working on. Click. I don’t think it’s going to turn up used or NOS. I’m swamped getting ready for the NC trip right now (and there will surely be a shit storm at work when I get back) but perhaps we can pick up the discussion in a couple weeks. It would be coooool.

A couple weeks ago I got a bar mounted clock out of an eBay auction for my motorcycle and installed it last night. I don’t normally care about the time, but I’ve got some clock management responsibilities coming up that I thought it would be useful for. But then, why pray tell did I put a clock on there…when, in fact, there’s a clock function in the left digital display? Well, the answer is the function switch is on the back and I can’t get my hand back there with both the windscreen installed and gloves on.

Seemed like a simple enough gadget with set screw to secure it to the bar. Nope…wouldn’t set securely. So I drilled a hole below the bezel where the clock itself sits and zip tied that sucker.

Oh hey, check out that steering head bolt in the first photo. Classy isn't it?

I've seen clocks that go on that steering head bolt. I've been wanting to get one for a long time.

Let's hope. Tired of washing my bike and all my gear after every single ride. I haven't noticed many this week.

We never got that many this far south. We didn't hit them until we got north to Okeechobee. They also seemed to be much worse on the west side of the lake.

Since my ST is a week old yesterday there is no sense in wasting time.  Grin

Friday night I wired in Red LED engine lights.

And yesterday I put these seat beads on and wired in a Cobra radar detector.  I have a feeling I am going to need it with this bike.  Roll Eyes (I'll get a pic today)

Love the seat beads!!!

Late last night, I did the 600 mile break in service with 599 miles on the ODO.
