New Old Guy INTRO

Hey everyone,    Vern Here

I live west of Bryceville Fl, by the St Mary's river,  I've been riding most of my life, I really like Sport Touring but my Sand road doesn't like Sport Touring bikes or the skinny tire up front. So at the moment I have a 09' Yamaha Venture, Love the V-4's & in plows through sugarsand  like tractor!!. I like  long rides, I usually pack  snacks  & water, and swimsuit, stop At the Many Cool Florida Freshwater Springs, swim for a couple of hours and keep riding.  Also like to do a thing  I call bike & hikes, pack my stuff ride somewhere and hike for 3-10 miles depending on how much time I have. Its agood way to scope new places to Kayak too.  Yes I like the outdoors and I'm Snake Geek.   My friend Rodney and I did 350 miles today, took the long way to Madison Blue Springs, swam for a couiple of hours &  took the long way home( 2 lane backroads) as much as possible.  Hope meet up with other riders with similiar interest, and/or other Ideas too.  I'm not rich/wealthy,, so I have to work for a living, so I'm limited to weekends and vacation time and I don't get to ride every weekend so I make a full day of it when I get the Chance to get out and  PLAY !!

That sounds really cool Vern. I wish we had springs down in South Florida. Most of the fresh water lakes are warm and full of gators. I do ride my bike to the beach sometimes.

I had to google Bryceville. Looks like you are in a great area of Florida for rides.

Thanks for the Welcome everyone,,  Hopefully we can get some rides happening.

Hey V65,,, I may have met  you before,,, I had an 05' St1300, for about 3 years,, I really miss my ST.
I did some rides, Pony Express,  it was alot of fun ,, lots of cool people on the ST- Owners Group site. Which I am still a member and  stop in there weekly.  I also ride a KLR 650 ,  full knobbies for trail use,  in Osceola & Ocala Nat Forest. etc.. Member  Dixie Dual Sport.
  Maybe we'll see ya on the trails or Highways,,, I'll post when I get ready to do another Day trip Anywhere.
