Finally pulled the trigger on a new bike this past weekend. The whole time I've been looking for the next ride I thought I was wanting to go with a cruiser style thinking it would be more comfortable and what not. I knew I wanted to stay away from full out supersports and sportbikes.

Some of you will remember that I was looking at shadow 1100 and vtx1300s. I even made a list of several different bikes of differing "genres" if you will. http://bikerflorida.com/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=199;sa=showPosts. Funny thing is, the bike I ended up getting wasn't on this list and totally surprised me. Here she is:

2009 Suzuki GSX650F - brand new, left over model with 2 miles on the clock. Between the steal of a price and the low APR, I couldn't pass it up.

When I was at the dealer before looking at their cruisers I didn't even give this bike a second glance. I mean sure, I liked the color but all I saw was sportbike and didn't realize it's a standard riding position lightweight sport tourer of sorts. On my last trip to the dealer my sales guy directed me over to this bike and asked If I had thought of one of these. I sat on it, rode it around, and was sold...litterally. This bike is Suzuki's current answer to the Katana and Bandit which are now discontinued. I love the old Katana's and almost bought a 750 years ago. I guess I just never heard much of the GSX-F series.

Now I'm just trying to ride as much as I can to get past the 500mile break in keeping it below 6K rpm's. It's been a wet one this past week but I still have a grin on my face, albeit a sopping one lol.  Grin

Happy New Bike Day, too!

Very nice motorcycle…great choice.

Consider looping the lake (Okeechobee) for putting a big dent in your running in time. If you do, get a photo up on the dike near the locks on the east side.

Oh, and fix your signature. No longer bike-less.  hello2

Thanks guys. Happy New Bike Day, I like that lol.

I'll see what this weekend will bring. 3 day weekend, should be able to get some miles on and hopefully the ever present honey-do-list will allow it; but gotta take care of the fam responsibilities first ya know.  Wink

Yeah, got to change my sig line now. I was bike-less for too long.

Happy (wet) Riding  toothy2

I was bike-less too long myself.  I know how it feels to be back in the wind.  Congrats!
