I am looking for a swing arm on the smaller scale, thinking 80cc to 125cc size.  Might even go as small as a 60cc or as large as a 250cc.  Lightweight shock, wheel and axle included would all be a bonus.

I have an idea to build a single wheel trailer to pull behind the ST I think a light weight swing arm would be a good place to start.

Cheap to free in price range and the closer to Palm Beach County the better.   Grin

Seems like one wheel on a hitch might wander. Dual hitches, one on each side?

To the contrary, a single wheel trailer will track with your bike and after much research and reading I am now convinced is safer than a two wheel trailer.  There was a recent report of trailer tire blow out on one side of a two wheeled trailer, dragging sideways and taking down a GW killing a married couple.

My original plan has been to build a two wheeled 4x8 tiny teardrop trailer that would sleep two with a/c and a kitchen galley in the rear end. http://www.mikenchell.com/  I had it spec'd out at under 500 pounds loaded building every thing including the frame from scratch.  The benefit's of towing to a campground, un-hitching and go riding to come back to a ready made bed are obvious.  (I still may do this someday)  But, the more I thought it over, hauling a 4x8 trailer at even under 500 pounds say to mountain's would really kill my gas mileage, eat my tires faster and slow me down.  You have a ridden with me enough to know that slow and easy is not my style.   Grin

Now I am thinking my six man tent with a blow up queen sized air mattress would be a better option. http://www.walmart.com/ip/Ozark-Trail-Queen-Fabric-Elevated-Airbed/17064001  Even though I am taking a chance on setting up a tent in the rain, the smaller trailer will give me the better gas mileage over a 4x8, save my tires and not slow me down.  Also have the added benefit of fitting a one wheel trailer through a motel room door for safe keeping if I hotel it on the road.

I watched 3 of them fly through the Cherohala Skyway in June and I doubt I could have kept up with them w/o a trailer.  I will use a car top carrier as my body and put a cooler rack on the front of it.  With all the room the ST already has I should have enough room to camp two up for a month.  Much too small for what I want but here is a vid of the unigo trailer so you can get the idea.

I have my trailer hitch designed and know where to get all of the parts now and with any luck I'll have this set up for Windy Acres in October.   hello2

Is that going to be enough?

Sounds like a cool idea. Once you get somewhere dropping the trailer and supplies really seems like a good idea. Then you can do your riding with a light bike.

Hey now I haven't even hit 130 yet on the ST.  128 once but the wife wanted me to slow down at that point.  Grin
