I got an email from Cycle Gear saying that all their Florida Stores are going to have a Bike Night Sale this Thursday the 18th from 6:00PM to 9:00PM. See the ad they sent below. That Cortec Jacket is currently $170 in the store and $75 is a pretty good price for it. They're right on my way to and from work so I'm going to stop in and see if they have some specials on maintenance supplies like oil and stuff like that.

I went, I saw, I got oil ... it wasn't on sale.

It seems to me that Cycle Gear is turning into branding play based on a transition I've been noticing, particularly in the gear side of things. In the past, this store had a lot of different brands of gear and accessories and then they had their private label which was Motoboss. But if you go in there now, almost all you see is this Bilt stuff. Apparel and bags. Two-thirds of the store is just this Bilt stuff. I'm not saying it's crappy stuff, just that there's really no assortment. All the Bilt Jackets and pants kind of look the same in terms of style. Ditto with the bags.

In the maintenance parts, they have a nice selection of the more spensive K&N on the canister type filters, but nothing else (although their website says they sell Emro too). Then K&N and HiFlo on the internal filters. Oil is basically Castrol and Motul...2 lonely quarts of Mobil1 4T siting on the shelf. They do have other brands on their website.

I lost track of where I was going with this  Grin
