Ocala Micro Speedway started practices again after the summer break.  Southern Dirt Track Associations second half or their season starts September 17th.  My son Dylan acquired a RMZ450 Suzuki to participate in the short track events.  He finally persuaded me to get on the track again.  It has been 37 years since I have been on a short track!!  Anyway, grandson Liam, son Dylan, and I had a great time at practice yesterday.  Not sure I will do more than ride on practice days, will see.  I really enjoy doing the Grandad thing and helping make sure they are ready, and then watch them.

Like I said at first, not sure I am going to compete.  I need to drop at least 40 lbs (maybe more) and start an exercise program.  The exercise I have been doing (elbow bends) has had the wrong efect!  occasion14

Cool. I can see no better to reason to get in shape or stay in it. Flat tracking looks like a lot of fun!

I see the dates on the Southern Dirt Track website, but not the race times. Do you know those or should I call and check?

Last time gates opened at 2:00pm, practice started at 3.  Races started at 5:00pm.  I think that is their normal schedule.

The Next Race link on their site has those times, but for the last race.  I am on their email list so I will post when they update.

You are certainly correct on both counts.  See what I can do on my side as Flat Tracking is a lot of fun.

Lets see, Dylan maintains the bike, hauls it, gases it up, brings his camper (w-AC), all I have to do is show up and ride.  35 years ago in reverse!!  Grin  Except the AC.
