This movie came up on another thread and I want to give it two thumbs up:  "The Worlds Fastest Indian". Awesome pic about crazy mofo Burt Munroe from New Zealand and his quest to race at the salt flats on his highly modified Indian, which was viewed as a joke by most people at the time. Boy does he prove them wrong!

Also on my hit list:  "The Motorcycle Diaries", a true story about young Che Guevara and a motorcycle ride up the length of South America that changes his life forever. There is a movie coming out soon starring Benicio Del Toro about Che and it might be a good idea to check out "diaries" before "Che" comes out.

I also rented Easy Rider this summer and that is a real hoot. Smoke something wacky before watching that one, man. Everybody in the movie was loaded and you should be too.

I've been thinking about starting a thread like this, too. I'll go through my collection and post some. Here's some off the top of my head.

The Wild One - 1953.
Mad Max - 1979. While not a biker movie it has some nice 70s bikes in this one.
On Any Sunday - 1971.
The World's Fastest Indian - 2005. As mentioned before.
Ghost Rider - 2007. I love the classic style bike he rides even if it was made in 2007.

I've got others with Peter Fonda and Jack Nicholson in my collection, but can't remember the names. Got to get them out again.

I always like to point out in new movies when they show a classic Harley with a front disc brake that Harley didn't make one until 1972. The new Indian Jones movie is the most recent blunder in this category. That bike should have two drum brakes.

Awsome movie for entertainment's value. Choppers, chicks, Joe Namath. Choppers on a motocross track!!

Don't you have it on VHS? It's not available on DVD. I need to buy it on VHS and transfer it.

I haven't been doing too much this last week except home repairs and watching movies. I did see two movies that had some pretty cool bikes.

The Curious case of Benjamin Buttons is a pretty amazing film. Kate Blanchett has always been near the top of my "movie babes" list, and now she just might in in first place..but I digress....The are a few scenes when Benjamin is older, er younger, er whatever...where he rides a pretty cool Triumph....

My wife watched "Officer and a Gentleman" on AMC... Richard Gere tools around the whole movie on a bike...I think that was a Triumph too. ...I'm not certain though... I couldn't watch that movie for too long because the longer I watched it, the gayer I felt. Not that I'm gay to begin with, or that there is anything wrong with that (Seinfeld) . I had to get out of there, man!

BTW  On any Sunday is totally kick ass. There may be no other bike movie that is done with a total passion for riding and bikes and competition like that movie is. Awesome slo-mo shots!

I may have CC and Company on VHS. That movie is awesome too. Ann Margaret, what a hottie. Elvis was a lucky bastard. Lemme look for that tape...

Of course a two-minute search yields the answer...

Gere rode this Triumph:

I have never seen this one. Is it any good? I guess it doesn't matter. It's kind of a must see, right? My motorcycle jacket is a horsehide Schott that is supposed to be the same as the one Brando wears in this movie. That jacket is the most comfortable piece of clothing I own. Funny, it makes me want to do a burn out in my neighbors front yard every time I wear it. Grrrrr!

The Wild One is a good movie. Biker gang all on British bikes. It's cool, don't be a square, man.

I have it in my personal DVD collection you are welcome to borrow. Here's a few more from my archives.

The Wild Angels - 1966 (not available, wtf?)

All of the above can be rented at Netflix. I've got Rebel Rousers in my queue to rent soon.

Netflix doesn't even have a listing for Hell's Belles. Here it is on IMDB.

I've been trying to find Girl on a Motorcycle (1968) for awhile now. I guess I'd have to buy it on Amazon.
